Log-in with your full email and password that you changed. If you have not logged on yet, your password will be changeme1 (or changeme or changeme14). If you can't get in, you can contact Patrick Douglas X7770 or patrick_douglas@gfps.k12.mt.us. To protect student data, please go into tools to change your password. Your facilitator can help you with this. When you are done, please select the log-out button on the top right hand corner, simply exiting the browser will not log you out of the program.
Instructions
1. Go to the “how-to” instructions regarding Mileposts found by clicking on this link:. http://bit.ly/GFPSMPInfo Be sure to bookmark this link. Refer to the links under “General Materials” first, particularly Mileposts 101 and 201 PowerPoint Presentations. Also, take time to view the PowerPoint links under “Teachers” – you will get a quick idea of all the reports available in Mileposts.
2. Pick a student
3. Go to his/her Performance data (assessments)
4. Pull 4 other students you have concerns about. Are they performing at their historical level? Higher? Lower?
5. What strategies are working with these students and what conclusions can you draw?
6. Do you need to contact any specialists? Counselor? Administrator?
7. If you teach AP or honors students, are they continuing to achieve at a higher level?
8. Using the information from the link above (#1), view the information under “Teachers – Daily Tasks”. Then log in a note on a general education student, similar to a “teacher log entry in PowerSchool—such as a phone call to parent, need to set up a conference, issues with seating arrangement, level of engagement, etc. Only create entries in Mileposts in your own name, or you can’t delete the entry if you’re just practicing.
9. If you have time, access these GREAT teacher resources to create engaging lessons (and if you don’t have time, please come back to this)

- Using the student’s current pretest information in your class, triangulate his/her data using current grade in your class, any summative assessments (like chapter tests) and formative assessments (quizzes, homework).
- What conclusions can you draw about the student’s current performance?
